Plus500 Ltd., a global multi-asset fintech group, has conditionally agreed to acquire full ownership of Guru Corretora de Títulos e Valores Mobiliários Ltda., a regulated broker-dealer in Brazil, marking the company’s direct entry into Latin America’s largest economy. The acquisition was announced on 20 October 2026 and represents the second strategic deal within approximately one week, following Plus500‘s acquisition of Hedge in the United States. The transaction will be funded entirely from existing cash reserves exceeding $860 million as of 30 June 2026, subject to customary regulatory approvals and closing conditions.
- Guru Status: Regulated broker-dealer authorised by the Central Bank of Brazil (BCB) and Securities and Exchange Commission of Brazil (CVM)
- Products Enabled: Brazilian stocks, futures, options, fixed income securities, and access to US derivatives markets
- Market Position: Brazil is the second largest derivatives market globally
- Regional Strategy: Builds on existing B2B partnership with Nelogica and presence in Colombia
The acquisition advances Plus500‘s bolt-on acquisition strategy, which focuses on acquiring strategic businesses with local regulatory licences, market access, and operational expertise, then scaling them through proprietary technology and product innovation. Guru’s established regulatory framework and local expertise will accelerate the Group’s ability to deliver new products and services to Brazilian customers. The transaction also supports Plus500‘s broader ambition to provide Latin American customers with comprehensive access to US derivatives markets and an expanded product offering across the region.
Brazil is one of the world’s most attractive trading markets, and acquiring Guru gives us the licence, the experienced local team and the regulatory framework to thrive. By combining our proprietary technology and multi-asset trading expertise with our recently announced Nelogica partnership, we can now offer a far broader range of products, including access to US derivatives. This is another clear step in our value creation strategy to deepen our offering and reach new markets.
