Spreadex Limited reported turnover of £104.6 million for the financial year ended May 31, 2025, up 1.3% from £103.3 million in the prior year, according to accounts filed with Companies House.
The UK-based sports and financial spread betting firm recorded profit before tax of £43.2 million, a 2.3% increase from £42.2 million in fiscal 2024. Profit after tax declined 2.4% to £31.7 million from £32.4 million, reflecting a higher tax charge of £11.6 million compared to £9.8 million in the prior period.
Operating profit rose 0.8% to £40.1 million from £39.8 million. The company reported gross profit of £91.6 million, up 2.9% from £89 million, while administrative expenses increased to £51.5 million from £49.3 million.
Net assets strengthened 4.8% to £134.2 million from £128.1 million. Cash at bank increased substantially to £97.5 million from £49.4 million at the prior year end.
The group paid dividends of £25.5 million during the year, up 61% from £15.8 million in fiscal 2024. Interest receivable and similar income totaled £3.1 million, compared to £2.5 million previously.
Average headcount grew to 202 employees from 193 in the prior year. Staff costs rose to £22.6 million from £24.6 million at the group level.
The company noted that its acquisition of Sporting Index Limited remains subject to review by the Competition and Markets Authority, with a final determination expected in September 2025.
