Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX) has appointed Carl Wong as Managing Director, Head of External Communications, effective 21 September 2026. Wong will oversee HKEX’s external communications functions, including media relations, social media, content development and speechwriting, while leading a dedicated team of communications specialists. He will report to HKEX Group Chief Communications Officer Jeffrey Ng.

Wong brings more than a decade of senior communications experience from Manulife, where he held a dual role overseeing communications for both Manulife Asia and Manulife Investment Management across the region. Before joining Manulife, he worked at Sun Hung Kai Properties and held senior positions at international public relations firms including Fleishman-Hillard and Ketchum. He holds a Bachelor of Science from Ohio University.
