CMC Markets, a FTSE 250 multi-asset financial services firm, has launched a ChatGPT integration enabling UK CFD clients to access account and market data through conversational prompts. The read-only integration, announced on 24 September 2026, allows clients to retrieve balances, positions, orders, pricing, and historical market information without navigating multiple screens.

  • Integration Type: Read-only access to account and market data
  • Initial Launch: UK CFD clients only
  • Capabilities Restricted: Cannot place, amend, or cancel orders; cannot open or close positions; cannot move funds
  • Data Access: Balances, account values, positions, orders, supported products, pricing and historical market data

Clients can use natural language queries to explore their accounts and supported markets. Example prompts include requests to summarise account balances, review current positions, check pending orders, locate specific assets such as gold, retrieve currency prices like GBP/USD, and display candlestick charts for individual securities over custom timeframes.

Ross Gustafson, Head of Cloud at CMC Markets, stated the integration unlocks a new way for clients to access financial information, combining positions, orders and pricing into a single AI-enabled experience. Laurence Booth, Global Head of Markets, noted that the integration represents a practical application of the firm’s investment in AI and cloud technology, designed to simplify client interactions with financial services while strengthening its multi-asset offering.

The integration is read-only, keeping trading and account activity separate from data retrieval functions. CMC Markets said the launch forms part of its broader strategy to invest in AI technologies and evolve how clients interact with financial information across its platform.
