Anchorage Digital, operator of America’s first federally regulated crypto bank, now offers institutional custody services for DOT, the native token of the Polkadot network. The expansion enables institutions to securely hold and participate in governance activities on one of crypto’s most established multi-chain ecosystems, the company announced.
- Service: Institutional custody support for DOT token
- Regulatory Status: Anchorage Digital Bank N.A. is federally regulated
- Additional Operations: Licensed in Singapore (MAS), New York (BitLicense), and operates a self-custody wallet, Porto
- Company Valuation: $4.2 billion
Polkadot operates as a decentralized platform providing shared infrastructure for building interoperable blockchains and applications. DOT underpins the network’s governance, security, and coordination mechanisms. As institutional capital increasingly flows into multi-chain solutions, custody providers have become critical infrastructure for long-term participation in the ecosystem.

The custody expansion reflects rising institutional demand for access to Polkadot’s ecosystem as it scales. Anchorage Digital, founded in 2017 and headquartered in San Francisco, counts investors including Andreessen Horowitz, Goldman Sachs, KKR, and Visa. The firm operates offices in New York, Singapore, Porto, and Sioux Falls.
