BitGo Bank & Trust, N.A. and Jupiter announced a collaboration that lets eligible institutional clients stake Solana (SOL) directly from their existing custody accounts through the Jupiter x BitGo validator. The partnership combines Jupiter’s validator infrastructure with BitGo’s regulated custody and staking capabilities, letting institutions stake native SOL without transferring assets to an external provider.

  • Custody requirement: Assets remain within BitGo Bank & Trust, N.A. regulated custody environment
  • Insurance coverage: Up to $250 million available through BitGo’s insurance program
  • Staking mechanism: SOL delegated to a validator without transferring assets; unstaking subject to Solana’s protocol deactivation period
  • Security: Institutional-grade cold storage and established operational controls

Institutional SOL holders can earn protocol-generated staking rewards while maintaining custody controls and institutional-grade security. The integration simplifies staking operations by allowing clients to access Jupiter’s validator through existing BitGo workflows without establishing a separate custody relationship. Eligible clients can stake SOL, earn rewards subject to network conditions and validator performance, and maintain assets within BitGo‘s regulated custody environment supported by cold storage security.

Most people know Jupiter for swaps, perps, and lending, but none of that works without a network that’s secure and fast underneath it. Running a validator is how we invest in that base layer, and partnering with BitGo brings institutional SOL into it on terms those institutions already trust.

– Kash Dhanda, COO, Jupiter

Staking is an important part of how institutions manage their SOL holdings, and it needs to fit into their existing custody and approval processes.

– Abel Seow, Managing Director, Head of APAC Sales, BitGo

Staking rewards are not guaranteed and vary based on network conditions, validator performance, and other factors. Risks include variable or no rewards, delays in unstaking, validator underperformance, and protocol changes that may include penalties such as slashing. Jupiter operates the validator independently, and BitGo does not control its performance. Existing BitGo clients can contact their representative to learn more about staking SOL through the Jupiter x BitGo validator. BitGo, founded in 2013, provides custody, wallets, staking, trading, financing, and settlement services across multiple regulated entities serving thousands of institutions globally.
