XTB, the Polish-founded investment application, has introduced a Hungarian tax-advantaged savings account and extended trading hours for select equities across multiple European and American markets. The moves mark the fintech’s continued effort to tailor its platform to regional regulations while pursuing global expansion.
- New Product: TBSZ (Tartós Befektetési Számla) account for Hungarian investors
- Trading Hours: 24/5 access for selected U.S. stocks; 7:30-22:00 for French and Spanish equities
- Market Growth: Hungarian TBSZ accounts grew 34% year-over-year, reaching 519,000 by the end of 2025
- Assets Under Management: 7.9 trillion HUF held in Hungarian TBSZ accounts
Data from Hungary’s National Bank (MNB) underscores growing demand for tax-sheltered investment vehicles in the region. TBSZ account registrations increased from approximately 386,000 at the end of 2024 to over 519,000 by the close of 2025. The introduction of the account type into XTB‘s platform represents a strategic response to this trend and a cornerstone of the company’s largest marketing campaign in the Hungarian market to date.
Although we think about global expansion at XTB, we do not neglect local needs and investor preferences. Examples of our successes in other markets show that adapting our offer to local requirements is one of the key elements in competing for the position of the app of choice among investors. That is why I believe that the introduction of TBSZ is a very important step towards further increasing XTB’s popularity in Hungary. I am convinced that we currently have the best offer on the market, and combined with the largest marketing campaign in Hungary in our history, we have high expectations for increasing XTB’s popularity among Hungarian investors.
– Omar Arnaout, President of the Management Board, XTB
The 24/5 trading feature for U.S. equities is being rolled out gradually to XTB users, with in-app notifications guiding eligible account holders on activation and operational rules. Extended trading hours are now also available on select French and Spanish stocks, aligning with service hours already offered on German exchanges (7:30–22:00). The company is preparing additional product enhancements for 2026 across multiple markets, with a priority focus on introducing OKI accounts in Poland by early 2027.
