Sage Capital Management has selected OpenPayd to expand fiat payment capabilities for its institutional digital asset clients, the companies announced on September 9, 2026. The partnership extends multi-currency settlement options across USD, EUR, and GBP, enabling hedge funds, asset managers, trading firms, and corporate treasuries to move money seamlessly between traditional finance and digital asset markets through a single platform.
- Payment Rails: USD SWIFT, EUR SEPA, and GBP Faster Payments
- Key Feature: Virtual International Bank Account Numbers (vIBANs) for each client
- Core Capability: Fast settlement and enhanced payment reconciliation
- OpenPayd Annual Volume: Over $300 billion processed for 1,200+ businesses
The integration leverages OpenPayd’s financial infrastructure to provide Sage Capital Management clients with multi-rail access for fiat on/off-ramping and liquidity provider settlements. Each client receives a dedicated vIBAN, enabling precise payment tracking and simplified reconciliation across incoming and outgoing transactions. This addresses a core operational requirement for institutions executing digital asset trades at scale.
Institutional access to digital assets depends on being able to move money efficiently on both sides of the trade. Fiat on/off-ramping gives institutions greater choice in how they access digital asset markets, while reliable payment connectivity is essential for moving funds between clients and counterparties.
Lux Thiagarajah, Chief Commercial Officer at OpenPayd, emphasized that the partnership strengthens institutional market access, while Nathan Sage, CEO of Sage Capital Management, highlighted the credibility and regulatory alignment the collaboration brings. Sage Capital Management now offers clients comprehensive infrastructure including banking, liquidity access, collateralized lending, and technology through a single regulated counterparty. Founded in 2015, the firm provides named multi-currency accounts and corporate debit cards linked directly to client entities.
