ASX Limited reported operating revenue of A$1.25 billion for the financial year ending 30 June 2026, representing 13.3% growth year-on-year, as the exchange concluded regulatory proceedings with ASIC and advanced a multi-year technology modernisation program. Interim CEO Darren Yip and Chief Financial Officer Andrew Tobin presented the results on 13 August 2026, highlighting record volumes across several markets and a landmark year marked by operational resilience despite heightened regulatory engagement.

  • Operating revenue: A$1.25 billion (up 13.3% year-on-year)
  • Underlying net profit after tax growth: 5.2% compared to the prior corresponding period
  • Final dividend: 104.7 cents per share, fully franked (total FY26 dividend: 206.5 cents per share)
  • Dividend payout ratio: 75% of underlying NPAT
  • New listings: 100 new entities listed, adding A$32 billion in quoted market capitalisation (86% year-on-year growth)
  • EBITDA margin: 61.0% (down 180 basis points)

FY26 was a landmark year for ASX, with the conclusion of the ASIC Inquiry, the settlement of ASIC’s proceedings relating to the previous CHESS project, and a CEO transition. It was also a year in which we demonstrated operational resilience, as we saw record volumes across several of our markets. This highlights the importance of the investments that we are making in technology and operational resilience, both of which underpin the critical market infrastructure that we provide.

The exchange delivered revenue growth across all four business divisions. ASX Listings achieved its strongest performance since FY22, with new entities adding A$32 billion in quoted market capitalisation. The Markets business launched options on gold ETFs and new peak electricity derivative contracts to support energy transition strategies, while the Technology and Data division introduced new debt market activity products covering repo, bond, and money market activity settled through Austraclear.

ASX advanced its Accelerate Program, a multi-year enterprise transformation reset in response to ASIC‘s Interim Inquiry Report, establishing five core workstreams with target states agreed to by regulators including the Reserve Bank of Australia. The program includes governance enhancements and a new governance workstream, with the Clearing and Settlement Boards transitioned to fully independent structures comprised solely of non-ASX directors.

Technology modernisation delivered CHESS Release 1 in April, establishing cloud-based hosting and data integration capabilities, with CHESS Release 2 in progress. Underlying return on equity improved to 13.7%, though the EBITDA margin declined 180 basis points as expense growth outpaced revenue increases, partly reflecting costs associated with the ASIC regulatory response. Successful delivery and embedment of the Accelerate Program may enable ASX to seek release or reduction of a A$150 million capital charge agreed under its Commitments Plan with ASIC.
