AJ Bell has announced that Daintree Wealth Management has joined its Model B Custody Solutions business, expanding the fintech platform’s white-label offerings for wealth advisers and management firms seeking greater control over client propositions.

  • Platform Model: Model B allows partner firms to own client experience, branding, and commercial terms while AJ Bell handles custody, trading, and back-office administration
  • Differentiation: Model B differs from AJ Bell Investcentre, which is an end-to-end advised platform distributed directly to clients under the AJ Bell brand
  • Partner Benefits: Firms retain full control of client proposition while leveraging AJ Bell’s operational infrastructure and custody capabilities

AJ Bell Custody Solutions has gained momentum over the past two years as advisory firms seek flexible platform alternatives that balance operational scale with independence. The Model B solution allows partners to set their own platform and custody fees, package infrastructure in proprietary branding, and maintain a distinctive market presence without building custodial infrastructure independently.

When reviewing our platform strategy, it was important for us to find a partner that could provide the operational scale and expertise required to support our future ambitions, without compromising our ability to deliver a distinctive client experience.

Mark Parello, Daintree Wealth Management founder and CEO, stated that the partnership enables the firm to retain control of its proposition while benefiting from an established custody partner’s operational support. Mark Rendle, AJ Bell managing director, emphasised that Model B solutions are becoming increasingly vital as advisers navigate complex tax and regulatory environments, positioning the custody platform as a genuine alternative to AJ Bell’s traditional Investcentre offering for different market segments and business models.
