Match-Trade Technologies has launched Match-Trader MCP for Traders, a remote Model Context Protocol server that connects live trading accounts to AI assistants including Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and VS Code. The integration allows traders to query account and market data through natural language and prepare trading actions without switching between multiple platforms or manually calculating portfolio metrics.
- Core functionality: Read-only tools for account, portfolio, and market data; action tools for opening, modifying, and closing positions
- Access control: One token per trading account with scoped permissions, rate limiting, and revocable access
- Deployment model: Remote server requiring no software installation; integrates directly into existing AI applications
- Auditability: API-executed actions remain visible in trading history with token identification in close reasons
The integration addresses a workflow problem: traders typically spend time switching between platform tabs, exporting historical data, and manually calculating swap costs, portfolio exposure, and performance patterns. Match-Trader MCP removes these manual steps by letting traders ask questions like “Show my open positions and how much swap has cost me this month” or “Which positions have no stop loss set?” The AI assistant retrieves the data and presents it before executing any state-changing orders, maintaining human control over all trading actions.
The solution uses a request-response connection layer built on Match-Trader‘s existing API. Each tool maps directly to an API endpoint and falls into one of two categories: read tools for data retrieval and action tools for trading operations. When a trader approves an order, the MCP client sends the instruction to the trader’s account through the platform’s API. The company emphasizes that MCP clients typically request trader approval before executing trades, preserving what it calls a “human-in-the-loop” model.
Security features include scoped permissions granted by function group rather than all-or-nothing access, per-token rate limiting, and the ability to revoke tokens at any time without affecting other integrations. Traders generate access tokens within the Match-Trader platform and assign names for traceability. Match-Trade Technologies, founded in 2013, provides trading technology for forex brokers, prop trading firms, and financial institutions globally, offering white-label platforms, liquidity connectivity, and ecosystem integrations.
