Robinhood announced a sweeping expansion of active trading products at its HOOD Summit 2026 in Houston, introducing embedded AI agents that trade autonomously, perpetual futures contracts, earnings prediction markets, and weekend equity trading, a strategic move to capture market share among retail traders seeking institutional-grade tools.
- Launch Timeline: Robinhood Agents and Agent Apps rolling out to eligible U.S. customers; perpetual futures coming in months; 24/7 weekend equities trading pending regulatory review; extended options hours starting October
- Perpetual Futures Leverage: Up to 10x leverage on BTC and ETH, 3x on other assets; fees capped at 1 basis point (0.01%) through year-end
- Crypto Assets Supported: BTC, ETH, SOL, XRP, DOGE, ADA, LINK, HYPE
- Agent Apps Pricing: Premium data subscriptions ranging from $5–$30 per month; all include a one-month free trial
Robinhood Agents, which embed directly in the app, enable users to build and deploy AI trading strategies without external integrations. The feature builds on agentic trading launched in May, which has already drawn 150,000 users executing nearly 30 million trades daily. Setup requires naming the agent, opening a dedicated account, and selecting an AI model from providers including OpenAI. Manual trade approval defaults to enabled, with users controlling all safety parameters.
Ownership doesn’t work without markets, and markets don’t work without traders. We’re making Robinhood the best place in the world for active traders by delivering tools once reserved for hedge funds, big banks, and quant firms.
– Vlad Tenev, CEO, Robinhood
With safety and security at its core, we’re setting the standard for what agentic finance can be. Whether you’re an expert or are just getting started with AI, you’re at a disadvantage if you’re not using Robinhood.
– Abhishek Fatehpuria, VP of Product Management, Robinhood
Breaking news doesn’t wait for an opening bell. With the upcoming launch of weekend trading, we’re making sure our customers won’t have to either, no matter what day it is.
– Steve Quirk, Chief Brokerage Officer, Robinhood
We’re about to change when the world can trade. Soon 24/7 trading won’t be a dream, it will be the new global standard. Working alongside Robinhood, we will be giving traders the freedom to trade when they want, not when Wall Street decides.
– Jason Wallach, CEO, Bruce Markets
The brokerage also expanded its product suite with perpetual futures on major cryptocurrencies, offered through Robinhood Derivatives and Bitstamp, and earnings contracts, binary options tied to company-specific metrics such as earnings beats and revenue targets, available through Cboe.
Weekend trading will launch via Bruce ATS, an institutional-grade alternative trading system. Additional upgrades include one-cancels-the-other (OCO) orders for equities starting in October, extended options trading hours, and 4x intraday margin for eligible customers. Robinhood is a commission-free stock and options brokerage founded in 2013.
