Spotware Systems has launched Market Replay, a simulation feature on cTrader Windows that allows traders to practice strategies using historical market conditions without risking real capital. The tool enables users to select a historical date and time, set a virtual starting balance, and replay market movements at adjustable speeds to test decision-making across different scenarios.

  • Data granularity: Minute open-price or historical tick data options
  • Playback control: Fully adjustable speed with the ability to slow down or skip market periods
  • Analytics: Equity tracking, win/loss breakdowns, trade statistics, and timeline markers
  • User base: cTrader serves over 11 million traders, 300+ brokers, and prop firms

Market Replay integrates with cTrader’s existing trading functions and technical analysis tools, allowing traders to place and manage orders as they would in live trading. The Trade Watch display consolidates positions, orders, history, equity movements, and trade statistics in a single interface. Timestamps can be added to flag key moments and later exported or imported to rerun specific scenarios, helping traders match decisions to exact market conditions.

The feature targets traders at all experience levels, from beginners preparing for their first trade to seasoned professionals reviewing difficult sessions. Sergey Borisov, Product Manager at Spotware, stated that Market Replay creates a safe environment for practicing different approaches and gradually improving decision-making skills. The tool can also serve as a foundation for workshops, market reviews, and strategy demonstrations.

cTrader, launched in 2010, operates as an Open Trading Platform supporting 100+ third-party integrations via APIs and plugins. In 2026, it became the first FX/CFD trading platform to deliver official Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers for AI-powered trading, enabling users to connect AI agents for daily operations.
