TradingView has introduced heatmap view functionality across its Stock Screener, ETF Screener, and Crypto Coins Screener, offering traders a third visualization option alongside traditional table and chart displays. The feature enables users to quickly prioritize analysis from large result sets by converting screening data into color-coded, tile-based visualizations that highlight market performance and trends at a glance.
- Tile Size Parameters: Market cap, volume over 1D/1W/1M periods, or turnover; mono size option available
- Color Metrics: Change over 1h/4h/1D, performance 1W through 1Y, YTD, pre/post-market change, relative volume, volatility, or gap
- Grouping Options: By sector or no grouping
- Symbol Capacity: Up to 16,000 symbols per heatmap
- Refresh Options: Manual, every 10 seconds, or every minute
The heatmap view maintains all existing screener filters without adding or removing symbols when users switch between visualization modes. Traders can configure tile appearance to display logos, titles, and values while selecting from multiple color schemes, including a color-blind palette. Auto-refresh functionality and currency settings apply consistently across heatmap, table, and chart views.
Users can navigate the heatmap through hover tooltips, right-click watchlist additions, and context-dependent left-click actions. In the standalone screener, left-clicks update the Details panel; on Supercharts, they change the displayed chart symbol; and on market pages, they switch the page symbol. Fullscreen mode provides a compact toolbar for adjusting size, color, and grouping parameters alongside refresh and settings controls.
Heatmap settings persist within the current session when switching views, and saved screens retain their visualization preferences for future sessions. The feature supports standard undo and redo functionality.
