FP Trading, an international forex and CFD brokerage, has obtained a Category 5 licence from the UAE’s Capital Market Authority (CMA), marking its entry into the country’s onshore regulatory framework. The licence, issued in August 2026, authorizes marketing, promotional, and client introduction activities within the United Arab Emirates. Trade execution and client fund handling will continue through the company’s regulated entities in other jurisdictions.
- Licence Type: Category 5, CMA (formerly SCA)
- Scope: Marketing, promotion, and client introduction
- Trading Platforms: MT4, MT5, and cTrader
- Announcement Date: August 21, 2026
The move reflects FP Trading‘s strategy to build locally regulated operations across key markets rather than serving regions remotely. The company cited the UAE’s growth as a regional financial centre and the steady migration of brokers and fintech firms seeking onshore regulatory status as primary drivers for the decision. The licence positions the firm to operate within the same framework as other established players in the market.
The onshore presence is intended to strengthen relationships with clients and partners, including introducing brokers and affiliates active across the region. Narayan Joshi, General Manager of FP Trading, stated: “Having this licence in place lets us work far more closely with our clients and partners in the UAE. It’s a long-term commitment to the region, not a short-term move, and it fits into how we’re building out our regulatory presence more broadly.” The company has signaled plans to continue expanding regulatory coverage in additional markets, with further licensing announcements expected in the coming months.
FP Trading is an international forex and CFD brokerage offering access to multiple trading instruments across regulated jurisdictions.
