CME Group has introduced a new micro-sized gold futures contract, expanding access to precious metals trading for retail and institutional participants. The 1-Ounce Gold (1OZ) futures contract is now available for live trading through AMP Global, marking the exchange group’s smallest gold offering to date with a minimum tick value of $0.25.

  • Contract Size: 1/10 the size of Micro Gold (MGC) futures and 1/100 of standard Gold (GC) futures
  • CQG Symbol: M1OZ (front month example: M1OZQ25)
  • CME Symbol: 1OZ (front month example: 1OZQ25)
  • Tick Value: $0.25 per tick
  • Data Feed Support: CQG, Rithmic, TT, and Sierra Chart (Teton)

The contract represents a significant step toward democratizing gold futures trading by offering a smaller entry point for traders seeking exposure to precious metals markets. Unlike larger standard contracts, the 1OZ structure allows participants with lower capital requirements to establish positions in the gold market with reduced margin demands and smaller notional values per contract.

AMP Global has integrated the new contract into its Exact Cost Calculator, enabling traders to assess margin requirements and potential costs before execution. Traders seeking access to the 1OZ contract must enable COMEX/CME market data through their brokerage platform. The contract is available across all major data-feed providers supported by AMP Futures, ensuring broad accessibility for retail and professional traders alike.

The launch follows industry trends toward contract granularity, allowing market participants to tailor position sizes to their risk management and capital allocation strategies. This offering complements existing gold futures contracts across the CME’s product suite, positioning traders with multiple vehicles to express precious metals views across various market conditions and account sizes.
