Operating profit declined to £66.1 million from £68.8 million, a 3.8% decrease, as operating expenses rose to £228.3 million from £217.3 million. The company recorded net operating income of £294.9 million compared with £286.5 million in the prior year.
Net assets decreased 11.8% to £391.1 million from £443.4 million, while total assets grew 24.1% to £768.9 million from £619.5 million.
The average number of employees fell to 572 from 556, reflecting what the company described as continued focus on cost discipline and efficiency through outsourcing and operational transitions.
CMC Markets UK PLC paid dividends totaling £112.4 million during the year, compared with £101.8 million in the prior period. The company declared a dividend of £208.4 per ordinary share.
