Sumsub, an AI-powered compliance infrastructure provider, has joined OTL (Open Transaction Layer), an open protocol initiative led by Fireblocks with over 40 industry members, including Robinhood, Revolut, and eToro. The initiative aims to establish shared standards for on-chain identity, discovery, and transaction compliance across digital asset networks.
- OTL Members: 40+ industry participants, including Robinhood, Revolut, and eToro
- Sumsub Travel Rule Network: Connects 2,300+ virtual asset service providers
- Integrated Providers: GTR, CODE, and Sygna unified into a single orchestration layer
- Integration Partners: Chainlink’s Automated Compliance Engine and Linea’s Verax attestation service
The announcement expands an existing partnership between Sumsub and Fireblocks focused on Travel Rule compliance. As digital asset infrastructure grows, service providers face fragmented systems requiring separate integrations to verify counterparties, exchange compliance data, and meet regulatory requirements across different platforms. OTL addresses this by creating a unified infrastructure layer enabling participants to establish verifiable identities and communicate securely through standardized protocols.
Fragmented identity and compliance infrastructure has meant that every new integration in the digital asset industry often requires businesses to solve the same discovery and trust challenges again. OTL’s approach is focused on creating shared standards that build on existing industry practices, making it easier for organizations to connect and operate securely at scale.
– Ilya Brovin, Chief Growth Officer, Sumsub
Sumsub currently connects virtual asset service providers through the industry’s largest Travel Rule network, consolidating three major compliance providers into a single layer. This infrastructure now extends to on-chain identity solutions and integrates with Chainlink and Linea’s compliance and attestation services. Through OTL, Sumsub will contribute to developing identity and compliance messaging standards for secure interactions between digital asset participants.
