Ripple Prime has launched support for real-world asset (RWA) perpetual swaps, enabling institutional clients to trade traditional assets around the clock across equities, indices, ETFs, metals, energy, and foreign exchange markets. The offering, announced October 15, 2026, marks a significant expansion in Ripple‘s prime brokerage capabilities and reflects growing institutional demand for continuous market access beyond traditional trading hours.

  • Asset Classes: Equities, equity indices, ETFs, metals, energy, and FX across 100+ reference markets
  • Trading Hours: 24/7 continuous access, including weekends
  • Reference Venue: Trade.xyz perpetual futures on Hyperliquid decentralized derivatives platform
  • Collateral Option: Ripple USD (RLUSD) accepted for swap transactions
  • Initial Client: Virtu Financial
  • Regulatory License: CIV BVI, with expansion to additional regions planned

The RWA swaps are traded through Ripple Prime as principal and reference perpetual futures contracts listed on Hyperliquid. Institutional clients benefit from consolidated cross-margin functionality, allowing them to manage RWA swap exposures alongside other asset classes within a single counterparty relationship. Ripple USD can serve as collateral, streamlining capital efficiency across diversified portfolios.

RWA swaps are where traditional and digital markets meet. Institutions want exposure to equities, commodities, and currencies with the round-the-clock access and efficiencies of digital infrastructure. Ripple Prime was built to operate in both worlds, with deep experience clearing trades and managing digital collateral and risk across venues, 24/7.
